Every once in a while when your on vacation or visiting a new city you stumble on an out of the way restaurant. It's usually the kind of place the locals know about and keep to themselves. You enter with curiosity and expectation, Find cozy tables and friendly faces. You are seated at one of the outside tables with the trees rustling from a tropical breeze, and you know this place is special.

What you have found is Café Solé! A small unassuming restaurant tucked away in a quite section of Old Town Key West. Café Solé is a dining oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Duval Street. The restaurant is run by John & Judy Correa who put an emphasis on flavor, aroma and presentaion. Don't get me wrong, this is not a stuffy restaurant with attitude, it's romantic, fun, casual, comfortable and affordable. It's the type of restaurant you hope to find but rarely do.

The cuisine is from the south of France mingled with the flavors of Italy and the spices of the Islands. Indeed it is paradise for the palate. Enjoy a first course of Shrimp Romesco; grilled shrimp served with a tomato & hazelnut sauce oozing with garlic & spices...or an island favorite Conch Chowder - the creamiest ever with fresh grilled corn. For your main course you may want to try the Snapper Solé - a sunburst of tropical flavors! Snapper sauteed and served with a mango salsa. Or try "Polly's Pink & White Polka Dot Follies" - Fresh, local pink-gold shrimp & bay scallops served with the chef's superb jalapeno hollendaise sauce with grilled corn and red pepper, served over pasta. Mmmm...

Most of the main course selections are under $20.00, not a high price for paradise. So when you get to Key West, look around, see the sights, get out on the aqua clear waters, then come down the quite streets of Old Town till you reach the corner of Southard & Frances street and on that corner you'll find Café Solé. It's time to relax with a great meal, some fine wine and friends. You have found that little out of the way place, you have found Café Solé.
